Your sweet life has been taken from me,
I sit and ponder how could it be?
The plans we had were
Just ripped away.
Now the world continues another day.
Life for me isn’t normal anymore.
The days just seem to go by in slow motion.
It’s hard to do my daily chores.
YOU should be here,
YOU should be my normal.
When I go to the store,
I see babies.
Their mothers are having a normal day.
When I take your brother to the park,
I see mothers and children having a normal day.
When we go out to eat,
I see a family—the child has food on its face,
Another normal day for those people.
Normal to me is to get up and see an empty nursery.
Normal to me is a car without a car seat.
Normal to me is to cry when I’m alone.
Normal to me is NOT having you in my arms.
Who defines normal?
Because this is mine.
