I try to imagine how things would be,
If you were here with me.
We’d go on summer picnics in the park,
And swat at bumble bees.
We’d lay in the grass,
Watching clouds go by,
And see what we could find.
Then in the fall,
We’d try to catch falling leaves.
Go on a hayride,
laughing the whole way.
In the winter time you’d be so cute,
With your rosy cheeks and nose.
As we try to catch snowflakes on our tongues,
We’d build snowmen and dress them up so silly.
With the first signs of spring,
We’d chase butterflies,
And pick all the beautiful flowers.
We’d cuddle together on cool spring mornings.
These are the things I imagined we would have done,
If only you were here with me.
