I’ve been writing poetry for many years, and what you'll find in the following pages has been thought about for quite some time.

Numerous situations have inspired me to write including the death of my first-born child, Nicholas Daniel. After the death of our third son, Eli Joseph, and our fourth son, Toby Allen, I knew that I had to do something in order to honor them as well as all of the other children who had traveled a similar path. Then we additionally lost our first-born daughter, Abigail Caroline, who is a twin.

My hope is that this book will help keep our "Nickel," "Baby Eli," "Little Toe," and "Abbi" remembered—engraved upon our hearts forever. I also pray that these words will minister to you as you go through whatever it is you may currently be facing.

You should know that my Heavenly Father has given me the words found in these pages. Without Him, I would never have made it through these difficult times and I hope that you will let Him touch your life like He has touched mine.
